Hello again everyone,

If anyone here has an appreciation for hardware engineering nuances,
and has ever wondered how mobile phone LCD backlight LEDs are driven,
you may find my write-up interesting:

https://www.freecalypso.org/hg/freecalypso-hwlab/file/tip/doc/LCD-backlight-driver

In this article I have described what I desire for my FreeCalypso
dream phone in terms of its LCD and backlight, how the LCD backlight
is implemented in Motorola C139 and C155 phones according to the
available schematics and why I dislike that approach, and my proposed
alternative. My proposed alternative also has its flaws which I have
explained in my write-up, but it is the best I've been able to come up
with so far. In the article I also cover how I have practically
implemented my novel backlight LED driver circuit on our current Luna
LCD board, and the experience of how it actually works.

If anyone here has better EE knowledge than I do, or has better
experience with driving LEDs specifically, and can recommend a better
approach than what I have come up with so far, I am all ears!

Still enthused for now,
Mother Mychaela
