Hello class,
Just a reminder, our next videoconference session will be a little
less than 9 hours from now, at 18:00 UTC which is also 10:00 USA
Pacific Standard Time. Same Jitsi videoconference platform as before:
https://meet.jit.si/moderated/de280e2299acb289ffa38669f78ac91f05ceec6da5062ce761a35a0f32cd7a6c
The primary topic for this session will be GSM frequency bands: which
frequencies are usable for GSM, which bands work better for old phones,
the difference between uplink and downlink frequencies, and how
different bands overlap. Those of you who have an RF Explorer
instrument will get the most benefit out of this class, as we'll be
able to get into a hands-on portion (scanning your local RF environment
for possible spots where a little rebel GSM BTS can operate), but even
if you don't have this instrument yet, you will still benefit from the
theory portion of the class, which we'll do before the hands-on
portion. (You always have to know the theory first!)
I look forward to seeing many of you soon!
Sincerely,
Mother Mychaela aka Mrs. Falconia
