This directory contains the fully working cracked copy of PADS release 9.4.1 by
Team EFA which we found on The Pirate Bay in the summer of 2015.  The files are:

PADS9.4.1_mib.exe	-- the original installer package from Mentor Graphics
MentorKG.exe		-- pirate license key generator by Team EFA
install_docs.zip	-- how-to-install docs, both MG and Team EFA

The license crack implemented in this liberated release does not involve any
modifications to the actual software from MG (at least as far as we could tell),
but rather takes the form of a separate external key generator utility that
produces a license file which PADS accepts as valid when running on the same
machine on which it was generated.

The installation instructions are as follows:

1. Acquire a Windows machine - definitely the most painful step for those of us
   who live Windows-free lives otherwise.  It is unlikely that Wine would work,
   considering the DRM stuff involved.

2. Install PADS by running the PADS9.4.1_mib.exe installer package.  When it
   asks about licensing stuff, select the option to skip that step and take
   care of it later.  After this step PADS should work in demo mode.

3. Run MentorKG.exe to generate the license file for your machine and feed it
   to PADS.  If everything goes well, PADS will smallow it and enable full
   functionality.
